Class Schedule

ONLINE / Day 123 (~4.5 hours)

Introduction to AI-Assisted Proposal Development

We’ll begin the class on Day 1 by developing an in-depth understanding of the capabilities of Generative AI—and its current limitations—with custom content, demonstrations, and hands-on exercises. You’ll be set up with an account in Lohfeld’s Generative AI Training Tenant, a secured, GovCon business development domain-aware Generative AI platform, so you can immediately learn how to use AI tools to write proposal content, develop technical solutions, build briefings, and automate proposal reviews. You’ll learn how to write engineered prompts and chain-of-thought prompts that help you quickly converge on desired outcomes.

We’ll also discuss why AI models hallucinate, their limitations, and how to manage data security in enterprise models. Understanding how AI works will accelerate you up the learning curve to make you more effective and efficient in generating high-quality proposal artifacts.

By the end of Day 1, you’ll be skilled in using basic tools and the prompts you have written to generate sample content, showing the power and diversity of Generative AI.

ONLINE / Day 123 (~4.5 hours)

Enterprise AI Platforms and Prompt Engineering for Proposal Development

On Day 2, we’ll dive deeper into using Lohfeld’s Training Tenant to create high-scoring proposal content. We’ll use a Generative AI chatbot and a proposal content drafting AI Assistant to prepare, revise, and customize high-quality proposal content using a real-world solicitation. We’ll explore how to use retrieval augmented generation (RAG) and other Generative AI capabilities to automatically find and retrieve content from your company’s private data library to create winning proposal content that reflects your company’s unique value.

We’ll explore how to set up and maintain a secure company private data library with a myriad of company artifacts (e.g., capture plans, customer data, past proposals, proprietary solutions, past performance, resumes, etc.). You’ll also learn how to set up a shareable Prompt Library of your prompts for re-use and sharing with coworkers.

By the end of Day 2, you’ll be effortlessly writing your own prompts, skillfully creating new proposal content, and designing continuity of thought prompts to build custom workflows that are essential to creating real proposal content.

ONLINE / Day 123 (~4.5 hours)

Advanced Topics in Proposal Content Review and Revision, Solution Development, and Practitioner Proficiency

On Day 3, you’ll use the entire suite of proposal preparation tools and Assistants in the Lohfeld Training Tenant to create, check, and revise a response to a real government RFP. You’ll generate executive summaries, technical and management solutions, proposal strength statements, and first drafts of proposal content. You’ll also:

  • Quickly draft an innovative response based on company capabilities, use a compliance checker Assistant to evaluate your response, and make revisions based on suggestions from the Generative AI.
  • See an instructor-led demonstration of an Assistant that forecasts solicitation requirements and evaluation criteria and then steps you through developing a preliminary technical and management solution.
  • Use a private data library of past proposals and other proposal artifacts to help build proposal content.
  • Complete an in-class exercise to create an end-to-end solution to a real RFP.

By the end of Day 3, you’ll be using AI tools with proficiency to confidently assist capture teams, help SMEs create high-scoring solutions, and write proposal content better and more quickly than ever before. You’ll be prepared to be an AI trailblazer and accelerate your company’s adoption of AI technology.

Your temporary Training Tenant license will last ~7 days after the class, so you can continue using it to develop additional prompts for your personal prompt library. After 7 days, all prompts and work products will be deleted, and the Training Tenant will be reinitialized to prevent proprietary data exposure.
